Relocating....

Ohhhhh yeahhhhh. (ugh!) That's right, we're moving. Don't get me wrong, I love where we're going...back to the States...but I just absolutely abhor having to pack up all of my scrapbooking stuff! Because there is SO MUCH! That's what me and my husband are focusing in today, the Craft Room. Sigh.... Oh well. At least we're doing a really good job of it, you know? Like making sure my papers are packed properly for no smashage, and all my liquidy things in baggies for no leakageness.

Anyways, I'm here to tell you that although I have to pack and focus on that, hopefully I'll be able to jump on here and give ya'll an update, as well as some more fun stuff to check out.

AND...I'm on someone else's computer right now because mine's officially "on the fritz" and makes terrible crunching noises whenever I turn it on. It really needs to be serviced.

Ok! So...back to my Craft Room, and back to working with all my scrappin' stuff, only not in the way I'd really like to be. Sigh.....

One Of My Own

Finally, one of MY pages. Made with Tinkering Ink's Westminister Collection. This one was my very first attempts at a digital scrapbook page. (yeah~for me!)

I'd recently met the Owner/HeadDesigner of all these incredibly artistic collections through happenstance as we were visiting a friend of my husband's, who lives just around the corner from her. Having discovered I'm into scrapbooking (like a crazy person, I am) and my husband's love for self-start-up companies, he took us over to meet her. Kezia Whitteker is an amazing woman. I truly admire her for her enthusiasm for life, despite the challenges life throws her way. But not only that, she's had her fun in the fashion industry, as well in the field of interior design. Now she's implementing her talents and techniques for our use in the world of scrapbooking!

After meeting with Kezia, we left with a handfull of her collections on CD, as I'd said I'd liked to try my hand at going digital (with try being the key word here). Well, since I had absolutely NO idea of where to start, I decided to do a total scrap-lift job, just to see if I could do it. Above is what I ended up with, and you can view the original by Emilie Ahern here.(thanks Em!)

Freebies!!!

For those of you who are always on the look out for freebies and are sick and tired of a paper here and an embellie there, then you're going to want to check out Marieke Vermeulen's blog, Color Your World, and download her Jolly Apple Collection for FREE. That's right, a collection, my friends. She's from the Netherlands, and has a unique, bright and fun outlook on her scrapbooking. Not only does she design these darling, funky papers, she also designs all the stamps she uses on them! (And if you know me and stamps, well... enough said.)

Oh! And don't forget to download those freebies h
ere!

Gotta Check It Out~

While you're here... (and while I find some time to post some pages)
Have you ever finished the most satisfying and aesthetically pleasing page ever... and then realized that you have no idea what to journal on it? I know that for myself, it can be frustrating as all get out! So, for some examples of some heartfelt journaling, visit the Creating Keepsake's site at creatingkeepsakes.com.

And THEN... sometimes I find that even though I have a shoebox filled with an ever-increasing stock of photos (until i go digital that is), every now and then I feel the desire to scrap something that speaks a thousand words for that particular time in my life. Something that's totally random, yet still me. Like, what's in my refrigerator right this instant (and what's in there that's the most tempting), and what's on my grocery list, or on my What's Hot list for Spring of 2008. (You never know when those bug-eyed sunglasses are gonna be so last season.) And then I'll have absolutely no clue as to where to begin to journal for it! (frustrating!) So check out Ashley Wren's blog, Overlooked,
for inspiring ideas on what to scrap, and where to find (inside of yourself) the thoughts and feelings to journal for those great pages~ and scrap about it now!
